MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTION
We sure do get a lot of junk mail at our house. I have wondered how so many people get our name and address. It’s like we are on some kind of list that’s been passed from one hand to the next, and everyone is taking turns sending us all kinds of opportunities to send them our hard earned money. There are all kinds of contests to enter and magazine subscriptions. There are even offers of help to start businesses, letters explaining how they can help us make our money grow. There are offers for free medical equipment, glucose test information, information about new dental offices that have opened with promises of making you want to smile with renew vigor, whatever that means. One mailing was asking for donations for all the poor children of the world. Some of this mail is elaborate in the promises made, and try to make you feel guilty or afraid if you don’t follow the instructions held within them. I have started a junk basket. From now on, anything that is junk goes directly into the junk bend. I will not be opening solicitations anymore. I know I will be tempted to throw a few bills away too.
