MAKING THE HEADLINES
It's a shame when things like this happen, but they do. Tom called me and wanted to know if I knew a personal injury attorney in California. I said that I had a few friends who were lawyers, and that I would check. I called and talked to some of them, and they referred me to other lawyers and to the California Bar Association. I checked out some of the web sites and profiles, and I sent them to Tom. He emailed later and said that he was grateful, but he was going to have to have a real high profile attorney, because this was a difficult case and would have to be fought through the system but also through the media. He needed someone who was media savvy as well as really up on the latest law. I wished him luck. Imagine my surprise when I turn on the TV and I see he is making headlines. He is getting his 15 minutes of fame, or whatever. I called him this time, instead of emailing. I asked him what had happened. We spent the next hour on the phone while he described the problems I just couldn't believe it. The news channels didn't get any of it right, but I'm not too surprised about that. After about 24 hours the story cycled out of the news, but I'm sure it will be back because of who is involved.
