THE MORNING NEWS
The morning news shows today annoy me more than inform me. I was almost late today waiting for the traffic and weather report. I would think they would show that the most often seeing as how that is all any of the news channels advertise, but I guess they are more concerned now with entertaining people on their way out the door than helping them get to work. There were about five different segments on this morning, none of which were news. One was on female baldness and I thought to myself, “How does this help anyone get to work? At the least it might actually make someone late because they have just become self conscious about loosing their hair and have to go take a second look at it.” Another was some guy around town showing you the best spots for coffee; because that is the reason most people watch the news, to find out where to get their morning cup. What aggravated me the most was that when they finally got to the traffic, they did not give a whole report. They only did four expressways, none were mine, and did them very vaguely at that. Conditions were good, bad and slow, and all the highways took thirty minutes to an hour. Thank you, morning news. Tomorrow I am skipping the news, leaving earlier and just finding out for myself.
